I went with a Clearview 9.5 inch light smoke recurve. Love it.

At least that's where mine is.
Spot on!!! The HD 7" is perfect for me.

Thanks I was just saying the other day, I need to try a taller wind shield. At 6'4" the stock 4" street glide shield wasn't enough for long rides. I got the 7" $35 shipped, worth trying at that price.

I just bought a 10 inch from these guys, I had purchased a 7 inch wind splitter from Harley and it was a waste of money as I am 5'11 with a long torso and it was worse than the stock sheild! Hopefully the new 1 is better but at 35.00 shipped I'll take the chance.

If you're lucky you may find a dealer that has a couple demo windshields you can try.I tried a Klock Werks "wave" 6.5,8.5 and a Slip Streamer 7" before I ended up deciding what I really needed was an 8" and bought a LRS 8" The Klock Werks 6.5 had terrible buffeting, the 8.5 worked great but just looked too weird and was a tiny bit too tall. The 7" had some random buffeting but was not too bad kinda felt like not having a windshield. The LRS 8" is still not perfect I get some buffeting but I think it's as good as it's going to get for me with a shield I can look over.Just want to add one more thing find somewhere safe to keep your stock while your testing all the other ones I scuffed the hell out of my stock one hauling it around in my tour pack.

1) definitely do the "tape on the stock clear shield" exercise to determine the proper height

2) you can cut down the factory shield, but the recurve shields offer you 2" higher protection than a flat shield of the same height...plus you can get a tint if you like

3) I don't recommend any of the acrylic shields; they are cheap but they are 3X easier to scratch and 15X weaker. I made that mistake the first time around and won't be using anything but polycarbonate from here on in.

4) I received good service from LRS but they don't make a polycarbonate recurve in the size I needed. I ordered from Jim at Fast Aire and couldn't be happier.
