Im have the same hard start issue. Mostly when its cold. Cranks over once n then seems like its almost getting compression locked for a second n then continues turning n fires right up. Seems to happen less when the motor is warm. I have a high lift cam rs576 n revolution 113ci installed with a 10.5:1 piston. I believe my corrected comp is only 9.6:1. Ive reduced my tac from 80 to 60 n fuel squirt to 144. Starts strong but still goes to lockup sometimes.
Yeah, I think there is some adjustment for hard starts. I think it cuts the fuel or add more for a split second while firing up.
I really like my Dragula 2into1. It isn't real loud while cruising, which I like because it isn't obnoxious or anything, but has a nice throaty bark when I get into the throttle. I'm pretty sure it's the 2.55 baffle.
*This*
There is also a setting for the compression release.
Not to give you a hard a time, but you really need to be a little "hands on" to get the most out of a TM. You can adjust fuel to increase mpg, add fuel to get rid of pinging, check your fault codes and history...etc. You really need to have a laptop, a cheapo $150 used one from Ebay is plenty. I used to check my tune every 500 to 1000 miles (on my 2011 RGU).
I also had a Dragula with 2.55 baffle and was very happy with it.

i agree. I have a Thunder Max on two bikes and they work great but you might have to make some adjustments for hard starting, pinging, decel pop and the like. It's not hard, you just have to first have a laptop and second do a little reading. If you download and open the software for your Thunder Max, there is I think a tab called help or documentation. In there you can find help suggestions for a particular problem or the entire manual is available.
My bikes run great and I don't need to pay for someone else to tune them that may or may not know what they are doing. Like most things, to get the most out of it, you have to take some initiative and get more involved with it. A good tune, even with an auto tune device, is rarely plug and play and walk away.
I have the same issue, just finished rebuilding my wife’s 2013 FLS, with a 107ci S&S big-bore kit, 89cc S&S heads, MR103CE cams, 58mm S&S throttle body and Fueling 9944 injectors.
Bike turns over, but the only thing I get is very very loud bang in the exhaust. I sent a support file to TM yesterday but maybe someone here knows something?
