I have the 578 and I love them. Hands are right to the top oif th fairing. Mine are pretty much straight up and down. They are a little wider than stock but not as wide as many mini apes. I don't really notice the width. I believe they are 2 inches taller than stock. I'm 5'11" also. Wiring through the bars is a very clean look. I just put a +4 clutch cable on and it works great. I highly recommend them but everyone has different taste
I'm the same size as you and went with the 577s and love them. I have them as far forward as they will go and with the pullback in them its no problem to reach them. I went +6 on the clutch and brake cables, as far as part numbers it just matters what brand you want to use.
575 with +2 on clutch only. No other changes needed. Ran all internal wiring including heated grips on Ultra Limited. Small change yes, but huge payoff for me in comfort and not real bad on wallet. PITA install pulling all that crap .
that's my bike with wo578 bars on it. I used a +6 clutch cable. you could probably go with a +4 or 5. had to get mine from drag specialties from the dealer so just tell them +6 clutch. I did use a longer brake cable you don't have to I just wanted the extra length if you want the longer one just tell them the one for the Harley bagger apes is the one you want. the wrist angle is really nice imo. if you want to stay below the fairing the 578 bars come right to the top of it and you will need to change out your mirrors.
another thing if you get avon grips do not cut the left side of the bar as is suggested and you will need to sand down the throttle side of the bar so the grip will turn. any questions feel free to pm me.
Mainboom, anyway I can see some more shots of your bike, different angles perhaps? Also how much wider are they than the stock bars? I would like to be able to still use my fairing for a little protection from the elements but I really like the look of those bars. What about internal wires? stock lengths were fine? All I would need to purchase is a +6 clutch cable? Would it be wise to extend the brake line also?
I have the wo577 on my sg now as with you the wrist angle on the stock bars was horrible. the wrist angle on stock bars 42* and the wrist angle on the wo is 40* not much difference the width of the wo bars 36.5 with 11 inches of pullback. I decided to give the 577 a go anyway , they are great looking bars but the wrist angle still bothered me so I am changing them out to the HD batwing apes. I am planning on selling the wo577 12.5 if you or anyone are interested as soon as I get the new bars on.
with the WO577 you will need + 6 cables and no wiring extensions just reroute the wiring under the radio.
