Adjusted the rear pushrods to 3 turns and they bled down nice. I put a dab of blue loctite for the peace of mind. Didn't know how much I could really tighten them. On to the front tomorrow morning, along with oil change and fresh plugs.

Suggestion, run the bike until warm to circulate any debris in the system so it goes into the filter. Then dump the oil & filter.

After I wrote the above post I just googled the topic and figured that would be ideal. Thanks for helping confirm it. Plan is to finish up everything today.

Quick question that I might make another thread for. So I have the screamin eagle pro tuner and the dealer dropped a map in and I paid for them to do a smart tune at the time because it was cold and they said come back when it's warm and they'll do it. Well now I dropped in these cams. Can they smart tune it now, or do they need to drop in a map and then smart tune it? I could always just go to a dyno, but I'd rather not pay that much.

Did the tune they loaded have the provision for the cams?
If so, you can smart tune to your hearts delight.
If not, go back and have them reload the correct map for the cams, and then smart tune.
Given the software, it may get you there eventually, but will be much quicker if you begin with the correct map, and may be safer depending on some of the parameters.

Nope, the tune was just for intake and exhaust. I'll check to see how much extra it will be. They couldn't get me in for a week. Think it's alright to run the bike with no tune for the cams?

Put everything together and started her up. Check engine light was on and the throttle was not really responsive. Forgot to plug in the o2 sensor. Started it up, same thing. Forgot to plug in the air cleaner plug. Started it up, no engine light and throttle is there. Just curious what my oil gauge should read? It shot up to 32 and stayed there going up to about 30mph. Got back from around the block and it was at about 30-32. Is this normal?

Thanks. I went out and let it run longer and it dropped to the black dot below 32. I also checked the oil and it is halfway up the grid. My check engine light does stay on for about 5 seconds after the bike is running and then goes off, wondering if this is because I started with the 02 sensor and intake unplugged before, or the previous tune?
