I'm looking to add some small apes to my bike, I'm very picky about the style/look of the bar...I tired to attach a picture please let me know if it works or not....
I was wondering if I went with 10s will I have to extend any cables/wiring?
Will I have to remove the fuel tank?
I installed apes on my '12 Streetbob the only thing I didn't enjoy doing was removing the tank
your pic is there, and looks like Yaffe. I am certainly not one to comment on this subject, but from what I've read a lot of people have gotten away with rerouting cables on 10" bars depending on manufacturer.
Yaffe, LA Chopper, Torch & BadDad all have bars with those sharp peaks.
Those definitely look like Yaffe Monkey Bagger Bars.
With 10" bars many are finding they can do some creative re-routing of cables and wires and not have to change them out.
As long as you don't have ABS or at least dont need to change the line you should not have to remove your tank.
It seems with the Yaffe Monkey Bagger Bars the smallest is 12IN?
I would probably only need 10IN since I am not that tall, but with the stock bars not I feel like I am hunched over and it does get uncomfortable after a few hours of riding...
If you have to remove the tank that will probably be the easiest part of the job as its simple. Now wiring the bars is another story. I put 12" bars on and didn't change any wires or cables
