I noticed a new noise lately, so put it up on the jack and found out that its the drive belt making a squeak. Sort of a sound that rubber makes when slipping. The belt seems tight, none of the parts back there seem like their worn, cant feel any play in the wheel bearing.
What do you think it is? Should I tighten the belt some more or maybe it's just dirty? I'm kinda stumped.
My belt lased 119,000 miles and looked good 'til the day it broke ( a cracked swingarm got it.) For the last 30,000 miles or so it squeaked on occasion though. I didn't have any belt dressing so I dabbed a little anti-seize on the outer edge (just the left side,) every couple of thousand miles and that stopped it.
