1.) sort out the charging system first- looks like there is a problem there
2.) jumped the bike?..well, if you did have a duff battery and jumped the bike...it is possible to over stress the charging system ( as it tries to recharge a duff battery) resulting in bad charging system. ( $100 problem becomes $400 problem)
so start with the charging system.
like always check and clean all wiring connections.
Started great today road about 30 min came home tried no issues. Let it cool little went short ride 5-10 min radio blasting came home nothing sat couple min started right up. Checked all levels all good. Road another short ride came back nothing. Sat 20 min started right up. Should I invest in a starter. If so is ther a strong after market for the 08 ultra
Thanks guys
First thing to do is the cheap and easy stuff. Clean all of the electrical connections from the battery. Take the battery cables off, and clean them and where they bolt onto the battery. Remove the Negative cable and clean where it connects to the frame. Don't just blow on it! Clean the cable and where it attaches to the frame with a wire brush. Then follow the Positive cable down. Clean every connection that cable makes down to the starter. Again remove the cable and wire brush both connection points. When you have it all clean be sure and hook the Positive battery connection first then the Negative last.
I'll bet you find a loose connection while you're cleaning everything.
