Hey hd rolling I am going to beat this dead horse a little more after seeing your I when back to the HF web site and looked very closely and I discovered 2 things 1st they both had the same bar as your, you can see the loop on the end 2nd both have the pump levers on the forward end mine was on the left rear don't know if that make a different but I think it odd to switch ends and bars I think it worst a another trip to the store.
My levers look like the one posted above. I have lowered my bike onto my bar and it doesn't flex at all!
same bar as I have on mine, I've had it for over 8 years and I've left the bike on it for 2 weeks and the bar held the weight of the bike and never bent as a matter of fact I have left the bike up without the bar for 2 days and the lift never dropped a inch
Thanks everyone for their time on this. I think I will go back to the store and see if they can tell me if the one I return is the way the new model are being build or was it build by someone you was having a bad day either way I will report back.

I have been following this thread for a while and I thank every one of you for the information you provided. I have been waffling back and forth between the HF table and the Kendon table at twice the price. I chose the Kendon for the following reasons......
More compact and designed to easily lift and stand up out of the way when not in use. Lifting a 300 lb. HF table will be like lifting a Kendon trailer to upright.
Kendons adjustable multi position self locking wheel chock.
Have a Kendon Dual rail trailer for years and know the quality of the products they produce.
The air/hydraulic lift mechanism. Push a button and it is up, turn a **** and it is down.
Very substantial but simple mechanism to lock the lift in the up position with many different height settings.
a few years back I stretched out my garage and put in a 2 post lift. Made a simple table to pop into the 4 lift post's and just simply ride my bike onto it. Heres a pick with my Vrod muscle on it but the cruisers work the same way. altho the only issue I have is oil changes so I think I might get a lift table,,, great thread!!!! ride safe, paul
Ok my safety bar did the exact same thing that happend to DXHD. Was going to call Pittsburg Motorcycle for a replacement. Other than that the lift is fine. How did you make out with your safety bar DX?
Bringing to the top with news. After calling and emailing HF I get a call yesterday from HF's Rick Reyes (rreyes@harborfreight.com). He is well aware of the problem and they do not have a replacement. He advised purchasing a length of cold rolled steel and forwarding him all the costs. Harbor freight will then reimburse all out of pocket costs. He said the reasons for the defective safety rod are many and didn't offer details. I'm working on this now and will advise when they come clean. The guy seemed sincere but I don't have it in writting.

EDIT; I went back and found the posting and picture. My safety bar is the heavier version red with the welded ring on it.
Without going and trying to find the posting that had a problem, what was/is the problem with the safety bar? I have one and there is a slight flex when the weight of the bike is on it. But it's around 900 pounds so I am not surprised.
Thanks
