LoJack

This is for anyone that's installed LoJack on thier pride and joy. It says it only draws 1 milliamp on the battery. Has anyone had a problem with the battery running down from having it installed,.....I try to ride at least 3-4 times a week but I certainly don't want a problem.
one milliamp would take years to drain your battery. It would take 1000 hours to drain the battery 1 amp, and the battery is probably rated at 30 amp hours it would take 30.000 hours to kill the battery... that's about 4 years assuming no other parasitic losses from radio memory, etc.
The only thing you need to know about LoJack is that the bike is missing, and that the cops in your area have the receivers to track it once it has been activated. You are relying on some cop puttting down his donut and turning on the unit, and actually doing his/her job if the Lojack unit on your bike should show up on thier screen. Also it is certainly not a nationwide coverage.
P.S. there have been cases where cops have activated LoJacks on cars for the purpose of tracking/locating someone without thier consent. Same thing with OnStar.

It's $595.00 for the unit then you have to have an authorized person install it. They never tell you where it is and they don't put a sticker anywhere on the bike. With all that said it cost me $725.00. Well worth it as far as I'm concerned.
