Just wondering what size tire is maximum for the rear with little to no modifications. I would like to fill the rear fender a little more if I could. I did a search but didn't really find what anyone had to do to go with a true 140, or a 150. I currently have the mu85 on the back and would like to try a michelin, just need to know what size to order.
A 150/80 should fit with no problems. Your limitations are rim width and fender width, plus belt clearance. Be sure to check the load rating of a 150/80 if you buy one, as it is a popular size for lighter bikes, however there are suitable heavy weight ones, with a load rating the same as your MU, around 77.
I talked to another local shop who has an awesome buy on metzeler 880's but I noticed that the 150/80 has a little lower weight rating at 72, I don't have a tour pak but do ride 2 up quite a bit, should I try a 160 instead?
