i have a 2012 flhx and need a front tire. The american elite is 60 dollars less than the oe tire, but i am wondering if a problem {nail etc} comes up would it be worth the xtra 60 to be able to go to any dealer to get a new tire. I do have tire and wheel warranty, what do ya think?
read over your warranty and determine whether it does actually cover road damage , debris, punctures etc.
some just double up on the manufacturer's warranty against defects in material/manufacture.
If it does cover road damages, does it cover universally or only at certain locations.
3.) check dealer pricing elsewhere- my last tire go-round a local dealer came in lower than the 2 usual indy tire shops in PHX-- and 1/2 the other dealers.
glad I called them!
I thought the tire warranty covered whatever brand tire you have on the bike. Now if you got a nail in a tire you may get an OE tire versus an Elite as a replacement.
And no matter what you end up buying check jakewilson.com
I'm not affiliated but I have purchased over 10 tires from them and the price was always lower than a dealer Indy or anywhere else online. Free shipping usually too and always fast, about 3 days tops to east coast (not sure where they are located) worth a shot.
thats what i was wondering. i called warranty people and they told me that there only deal was if i bought a more expensive tire they would only spend as much as the oe tire. that makes sense he just didnt tell me how it worked if u bought a cheaper tire, like the elite.
