I left the cat in put on rinehart and the XIED's , bike runs great and cooler and my wife doesn't complain about a hot foot, I have a 2010 SG 2 into 1, 120 bucks for XIED's, it's worth the try, if it doesn't work for ya they are easy to sell.

Before I removed my cat, I felt a concentration of heat radiating from that area. After removing my cats, that area of high heat is no longer there. However, I do seem to notice more heat on the back of my right thigh now. Maybe it was there before and I just never noticed it because of the excessive cat area heat.

Good choice. Exactly what I did. I just got back from a 3,000 mile ride from East Texas to Colorado and back. Altitude anywhere from sea level to 14,000, and had no problems, motor ran great. No decel popping, no shitty mileage.
What I got was a little cooler (mostly for my wife), little deeper sound, little louder sound. IMO, there are shortcuts, but only to a point. Decat is all I'm going to do right now. Xieds worked fine for me. If I do anything else, I'll re visit the Xieds. I would like to add a K&N air filter and down the line some Monster Rounds. I don't know if the Xied will handle that. But I'll find out.

Ride Safe

I think you might have replaced the CAT with a DOG if your getting more heat. Makes no sense to me.

Agreed, any missing pets in the neighborhood? It really doesn't make any sense.

With a de-catted head pipe the area ran 275 degrees and the bike still runs great. If it wasn't for the heat, I would not have de-catted but there is no way that area will run hotter without the cat. De-catting the pipe should change nothing but the heat.
DING, DING, DING! Here's the winner of the heat debate. If you can't tell the difference sitting at a stop light with and without the CAT on a hot day something ain't right with ya.

My 2010 Ultra is a pleasure to ride in stop and go traffic now that it is has slip-ons, Stage I, and no CAT.

Easily hits 115 mph? Actual speed or what the hd speedo reads? I know I am pushing a batwing and you are not, but I am guessing your speedo is very optimistic.

My SG has never been over 117 mph according to gps, the speedo was buried, and that was with a long, straight, downhill grade. I have a mod or two above stage one.

All my buddies behind me said they were going 120 mph and I was still pulling away hard.

I know it's all about comparisons. Anything over 100 mph is pretty darn fast, especially on a Harley. I just get a little tired of everyone that tells me their bike will run 120 mph when I leave them in the dust when I am only doing 100 mph.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but ride a bike that will easily cruise at 180 mph and you'll see speed a little different.
