So I was coming home along a long 30 mph scenic route yesterday next to the ocean. Total touristy and very busy. The car in front of me turned off and I then noticed a few cars ahead of me a nice late model RG with apes. Why do some riders have to feel the need to blip the throttle with loud exhaust to get people's attention? He'd pull back and then gun it, then blipping between downshifts etc.
Well there is a biker pub coming up and also a woman walking her Rotty along the side of the road. He wasn't 8' away from her and sent the dog jumping a foot in the air with yet another blip, just about pulling over the woman. So the point is folks, think of your loud exhaust and consider others please.
Sounds to me like that guy was just an *******. He didn't have to be riding a HD to be one either. There is a towing service near me and the driver insists on using his Jake brake in town. No need for it. It's level ground and 30 mph through town and he doesn't even have a tow on it. He makes it a point to do it right in front of the retirement community!
Maybe he likes hearing his exhaust. I understand that there are azz's out there that make the rest of us look bad to the johnny public. When I was stationed in Hawaii, my first sporty with drag pipes, I used to ABSOLUTELY LOVE riding by parked cars and setting off the car alarms, But I have outgrown that phase of my life, now its all about the mellow cruise down the road jamming my favorite tunes and enjoying the scenery.

Aaaahhhh..... so you are the A-hole that used to set off my alarm!

Amen. I have a friend that i NEVER ask to ride with us because of that. He does it before he moves from a stop and does it as he is gearing down to a lower speed. It is ANNOYING and makes us hated more. You would thnk he was on a dirt bike on a moto cross ride. I did it as a kid but i had a reason for doing it, reason being most times my worn out bike would not idle and i did it to keep it running. Funny thing he rides a Yamaha with straight pipes.
