Awaiting a new bike and wondered if there were any good links for installation of accessories. Trying to decide what is better left to the dealer or my installation. i.e. removal of seat to install backrest, siren and so on.

Thanks
For stuff like sissy bars and seats.. It's a breeze. Actually, typically the accessories will come with some relatively good instructions but if you're handy with a wrench or screwdriver and careful to stay away from or be careful with shiney painted and chrome parts, you could do all of it yourself. It's also a good way to get to know your bike.
Also, if you get stuck with an accessory, just ask us here. These guys in here are GREAT for questions, no matter if you're an old harley veteran or a newbie on your first scoot.
Having said that, I had the guys at the dealer do my detach sissy bar and light relocation kit on my fatboy because pretty much I just wanted to pick it up and ride it. Stuff on the back fender can sometimes be fun.. He had a time with the tail light relocation kit.
There's no rocket scientistry in installing the accessories. Do it yourself and save the $$$. They come with pretty decent instructions. Then you always have the board here if you get stuck.
