Contact Glide Pro, I know at one time they had come up with some rubber mounts that he said helped this issue. Seems that the occurance occurs after some miles,not when the thing is new. Could be the mounts are giving up or could be the bad thing, cranks getting more twisted. Mine was smooth as silk new but after about 6000 miles or so it started.
Just another thought but I'd call glide pro, couldn't hurt!

I have had 2 brand new SGs BUZZ, and, started a few new SGs a the dealership, all of them did it (all well parked and sitting still and just reving motors to 2200-2800).

Maybe im just gonna have to live with it. Cant seem to find cause. It bothers me a little but im more worried that im over looking some thing silly that could lead to damage. Will keep hunting and trying things and if anything stops buzz i will be sure to post as many of us have this issue.

Another SG owner here with the issue. My vibration seems intermittent, by that i mean its way worse some times than others. I typically notice a difference in intensity before/after large bumps or jolts. Kind of like something shifts and it comes and goes. Started last summer after a riding course where i drove the bike hard and been there since. I have an 09 with 9k on the odo BTW

I took special note of mine on a long ride today based on various engine RPM's and speeds and I could not get it to buzz as others have described. The only time it came close to a vibration that felt a little buzzy in the boards was when I let the RPMs drop below 2000 and started lugging it up a hill. Other than that it is almost too smooth. Doesn't feel like any of my Harleys of yore. I'm not complaining mind you. Mine has a few good miles on her and still has most of the stock parts that are mentioned as possible issues here. If some do it and some don't, then it is obviously not the nature of the beast. Has to be a reason and it sounds like its likely a common reason due to so many in this thread reporting the exact same feel? Odd?

Two things are going on here (as far as, "do they buzz, or don't they").

1) I am sure some (bikes) do it and some don't. I also think its internal (crank out of balance, or something in there just not right).

2) Some people are more "picky" then others.

I posted on this forum a few weeks ago about my '13 SG hand grips being different diameter (right being smaller) and most knew nothing about it, where I noticed it right away, and, it drove me nutts!!

How ANYONE could ride my last two SGs more then 20 miles without their asses and feet going numb is beyond me.

Again, vibration on a HD is normal, cool, to be expected. BUZZZZZ is NOT!! 2 different things.....big time.

As I mentioned in this thread and others, my footboard buzzing started immediately after I swapped the header pipe. In my case at least, I feel it almost has to be directly or indirectly related to the exhaust system.

Mine was on a 2013 with stage 1, and my bone stock 2013 SG. Then, I started a few bikes at dealership, all (3) buzzed at 2200-2400.

I kinda thought it was something I did on my 1st 13 SG (agitators, stage 1, etc), so I sold it and bought another/different 13 SG (with a new Goldwing inbewteen the SGs). The 2nd SG that was bone stock did the same thing.

Also, my last 2 Ultras (10 and 11 ltd) were smooth as silk......hmmmm?

Considered selling the Ultra for a new F6B, but I'll guess I keep it for a little while longer.

Hi all,
Still not sure as to the cause, But I've found a way to minimize the effect. As I said before I was suspecting my footboard inserts were worn. Well they are worn enough to make metal to metal contact with feet on.I can even jiggle them back and forth with my fingers enough to make contact,(Not sure about the 2011's and later, They changed the tops of the boards) So not wanting to wait another week and pay 80 bucks for the inserts. I got creative, With the 4 rubber grommets I no longer needed on my exhaust. I lifted the top half of my right footboard with a screwdriver and slid them in,(The right was worse than the left for some reason) In a rectangular shape, 2 inside 2 outside corners.(they measure 3/8" thick, 1" round, with a 5/16" hole in center), they propped the top up flat and firm yet still more or less coushioned.(Looked good as new,slightly higher than the left) The buzzing vibration was a LOT LESS noticable, almost gone, Much less than the left now. So first thing tomorrow I'm running over to ACE Hardware and getting a dozen, Should be about $2.50 worth, gonna put 3 inside edge, 3 outside edge of each footboard. Filling the holes in the center with Permatex Silicone to keep em put. And I also noticed the mounts for the inserts are hollow bubbles,I'm going to pump some silicone in all of them too. They will be a lot firmer yet still coushined. We'll see how well/how long that lasts. My next option will be the Glide-Pro front motormounts. But I hate just throwing parts/money at a problem,Basically just guessing till I fix it. But the inserts are worn and this is a cheap fix. I'll let y'all know how it works out.
