Dull Chrome
OK, here's what I did.
Got the never dull and did two treatments. Then, got some medium rubbing compound and did two additional treatments. Then, a coat of polish.
They don't look new, but they look a hell of a lot better then they did. When money becomes available, the forks will be chrome with the progressive sliders inside, the cans will be chromed, the discs will be floaters and the front tire will be a new ME888.
One thing I did with the Road King I had that someone may wish to do with their forks if they have heavy road rash. Get some sand paper (various grits from 100 to 600) and take a morning and sand the coating off the stock forks. Start low and go high with the grit number of the sand paper. You can even use one of the little hand sanders (like a Mouse) with a little care. Tape the fender and cover with a towel as well. Take your time and be careful and you can get the things looking beautiful. The last application of sand paper is your highest grit and in a constant vertical direction. Then wipe them down well with alcohol and put 2-3 coats of a heavy duty polish. You'll be very happy until you get your chrome forks.
