Default 2013 FLHTK barely made it back from Milwaukee...

Just kidding of course. If we went totally by what this forum said my Limited would have never made it back without water cooling to keep the engine from exploding, the mail slot to keep my head from exploding from all the buffeting, a new radio to keep my ears from exploding, and I would have never been able to pack my gear without the new hinges, latches and tour pak.

Put on 2500 miles in Milwaukee and the trip home to Florida (Had bike shipped up there due to limited vacation time, but rode home).. bike was great.. ran great, couldn't ask for a better ride. Nice upgrade from my '96 Road King.. I'll keep this one for a while.

Went south from Milwaukee to St. Louis, down through the Ozarks in Arkansas, into Louisiana and New Orleans, east back through Mississippi and Alabama, and finally back home to Central Florida.

It was kind of odd that Harley is pushing all their 111th bikes during the 110th celebration, but they have to cash in on the hype I guess. Willie G also saying during the Kid Rock opening what made the 110th so special was great motorcycles was a little odd though.. you would think it would have been the PEOPLE he would have focused on.. sounded strange to me.. he did say the people and their bond to the motorcycles is what makes it all work but it was an odd way to make that point. The people sitting around me thought the same thing.

Had a great time though, looking forward to the 115th.

Glad you had a good time while you were, and I'm glad you got home safely. Come back soon. Thanks for writing a positive post about a non-2014 bike. I love mine and have no ambition to change.

Yeah I think I was in a bit of a unique situation going from a pre-97 Road King (Very old frame design, can barely even find seats for it now) to a 2013. People argue the details between 2013 and 2014 and really the differences aren't huge. I loved my old Road King, I would still have it if it weren't for the mounting problems that come with a 17+ year old bike. Ride a truly old bike and you will see how far things have come.

Some of the changes on the 14's are nice but honestly for me its about the riding. Its the nature of a forum like this I suppose but I think some people are more interested in comparing '*****' size than riding. So I just had to confirm that the pre-2014's will still actually run across country..

Don't know about that.I've purchased a few new HD's,never started an internet thread
about any of 'em.A test ride's a thousand times more valuable than cyber-opinions.

Just imagine how bad you are going to feel when the 15's are out...

How bad will I feel??? I don't think I'm gonna feel bad at all and this is freaking crazy.... I did not see this kind of banter from 10,11, 12,13. But 14 comes along and all of a sudden. I did not feel bad back and 96 when 97 's come out and didn't feel bad back and 98 when the 99 when twin cam came out I didn't feel bad and 2010 when 2011 came out with the 103 option. Its just life get over it already It's just totally Ridiculous to say that I feel bad when 15s come out.
