Detach kit...takes 5 mins to remove...the solo seat on the other hand takes about an additional 5 mins. Have to remove the mount and replace with the Drag Specialties mount and snap the seat on. relocated both antennas (radio and CB) to the fairing.
10 mins and you have a whole new look.
Always find it funny that those with a Electraglide/Ultra want to make it look like a street glide by removing things, and those with a street want to add to theirs to make it as functional as a electra/ultra. Funny part is...I'm included. See my pic below with no tour pack and the solo seat.
Detach kit here as well on my '05. Makes for a whole different ride without the pak on the back.
However, my only complaint with the detach kit is that after a while (maybe once a season), the hard plastic spacers start to flatten out which makes the pak rock back and forth ever so slightly. It's still pretty darn secure on the mounts but it does rock back and forth a bit. I usually end up buying new spacers each season but they're $40 at my local dealer.
I went another way. I bought the Legends Sliding TourPak system. Exspensive, yes, but perfect for what I wanted! I ride solo 90% of the time and having the TP as a backrest is nothing short of amazing! Takes 30 seconds to convert it back for two up.
I'm gonna do a thread on it as soon as I take some decent pics. Here's a quick pic in the solo position:
