I thought some of you guys might like to see another option that is very easy to do. I always remove the heal shifter on my bikes and hate the caps they sell to cap the end of the shaft.
Remove the heal shifter
Mark the shaft
Remove the shaft
Hacksaw the end off
File the end smooth
Reinstall the shaft
Done
I had 3 or 4 black rubber grommets laying around that were the same diameter as the inside black spacer. I slide those to the inside and the toe shifter is mounted to the outside. It looks really clean without messing up the shaft. The heal shifter is in my parts box if I ever want to put it back on, which I won't but the next guy might.
Yes but thats if you want it installed in the outside position. This is for when you want it mounted in the inside position.
.
True. Yeah, you can tell by my setup I don't have huge feet! ha.
I don't like angling my feet inward to shift. I mean look at the size of my shifter. It's ginormous! lol
Or you can just put a cap on it an call it a day...
Bingo!! I always take the heel shifter off never gave the cap a second thought its just another piece of chrome. But I recognize the fact there are many folks that are very **** about their rides and I salute their ingenuity
