I'm searching for a new windshield to put on my Street Glide. I'm 6ft so I'm guessing that an 8 inch shield will fit the bill. For a stock like replacement, I like the look fo the Cee Baileys shields.
Has anyone had any experience with a Halfmoon Wings shield? They look nice, just wondering if anyone can share their experience with this shield. http://www.customflhtwindshields.net/
I just put the 8" dark on my Street Glide a couple of days ago. The fit is perfect, but it didn't improve the rider wind protection at all. It does seem to greatly improve the wind protection for a passenger, but since I never carry anyone, I'm going back to the regular style and shape shields. You or anyone else interested can P.M. me for a half priced almost new windshield.
I have the lightly smoked, 10" flat-top with wings. Nice fit and looks. Makes the bike stand out a little bit. Extra width helps with hearing the radio also.I am also 6' and if I slump, the 10" is slightly too high. Probably will get the clear 9" next time. I think 8" might be too low.
I have a 9" and a 6". At first I really like them. Then, I came to not really like the look at all, and didn't feel like it added any real additional protection to the rider, as mentioned above. Mostly though the look didn't wear well for me.
I agree....they look great BUT they don't hold up. I had 4 of them brake at the added wing, great company repaced them at N/C each time, but they obviously have a design flaw. Got tired of changing them and replaced with a conventional shield. The wind causes the wings to much fatague with nothing supporting them on back side.[:'(]Don't buy unless you like constantly changing your windshield.
