Thinking about cutting/modifying my front fender (2012 SG), now that I've installed the 21 tire/wheel. Anyone ever done this and if so, what did you use to cut the fender with.
Thanks, Jeff
I have not done this mod but I have done lots of bodywork cutting on other Harley's and Jeeps and an air body saw is what you want to use with a fine cutting blade.
Wouldn't it just be easier to but an aftermarket fender? I would think you could get good money for your fender for all of us RK guys that want a clean fender. Just a thought.
lots of ways to handle this, H-D has been using 19 and 21 wheels for many years on narrow and midglide model bikes.
Many aftermarket solutions.
probably cheaper, easier quicker in the end- but if you want to practice on the old fender, no reason not to, other than the possible resale value.

Well maybe, but everything I've seen out there is awfully expensive. I like to do things myself and just can't seem to justify spending alot of money on a shorter type fender. Why not just cut down my own? If you know where I can get a reasonable shorter type let me know.
Thanks, Jeff

I have looked into those, but most of the narow fenders on those bikes (I think) were over a narrower wheel, usually 90/90/21's and those fenders are only 4 inches wide. I need it to fit over a 120/70/21, on a 3.5 wheel. Any ideas, please let me know.
I put a 21" wheel on my RK. I have no mechanical ability whatsoever, so I bought a Klockwerks Level fender for roughly 3 bills. The fender works for a 21/120/70 tire. The price includes the adaptors as well. I have the fender at the painters as we speak...
