You said the clutch was adjusted by you after riding home. Did you let the bike cool overnight or at least 6 hrs before you adjusted it?
A hot or warm clutch is gonna throw your adjustment off.
I helped my son install 16" apes with new cables on his street glide last winter. Took awhile to get the "stretch" out of the cable and we had to adjust the clutch several times before it settled down. Plus, you have a new bike/clutch. Keep adjusting - you'll be OK in my opinion.
i was just thinking this today after my bar install. i "thought" it seemed a bit tough to pull after the install, but it's still not bad. took a road trip to Tx (apx 350 miles one way). lever seemed to gain some slack over the duration of the trip, to Tx, around town, then back to La. over a 4 day weekend.
i did just a little adjustment after coming home, all is good with shifting, finding neutral, ect... just seems to have a harder pull than it did stock, and not as quick of a snap back (return to engaged/ away from the hand grip).
maybe it's the Magnum cable... i might run it by the shop where we did the install just to see.
I had apes and a new cable installed and no question about it, it was stiffer and did not snap back as quickly . It continued to work well and now I don't notice it at all. I figure the lube has to work through it and it is a longer cable with more friction.
I put a 6" over Pro Motion cable when i did my apes this past winter... No pull change at all...been about 5000 miles now and i think i now may have to adjust the cable a bit, maybe 1 or 2 turns....Sounds like you have cable issues.

might be the case. i'm going to run it over to the shop in the morning (short little drive from the house anyway).
