For those following my thread the dealer called today to say they got my tourpak replacement in. What they originally said would take 4 to 6 weeks, only took about 14 weeks. But, it's finally in, so that's good. When the snow clears, I'll take it in to have the coolant filler neck replaced, and they can replace the tourpak at the same time.
Wow! Sorry to hear of your problems with the new bike. i decided to buy a 14 ultra classic and not go the water cooled route because of exactly what you are going thru. i thought they may be a year or two to fix all the bugs. i love the power and the braking of the new bike. i had an 09 street glide. hope you get everything resolved and get to really enjoy your new ride.
Well, I have another leak. This time a drip...
It was an unusually warm 58 degs to day in St. Louis, so I took my bike out for a ride. I didn't got far really maybe a total of 30 or 40 miles. A little while after parking upon my return, I went to the garage to mess with the radio, and noticed a small dime size drop under the front end. It was dripping from the lower edge of the chrome cover that hides the coolant pump and thermostat. So, it appears I know have a thermostat (I'm guessing) leak. I've heard there will be another program or recall on the thermostat, but I cannot confirm. I'll have it looked at when I take it in for the filler neck program.
The reason I was messing with the radio is one of the problems my radio has is the front left speaker is about 10db's lower in volume than all the other speakers. I took my sound meter to the garage to check it which is how I know and when I found the leak. The radio sounds like all the vocals are coming from the right. Even if I put my head up near the FL speaker, I can barely hear any vocals. Very strange, and I hope they can fix this.
hope it works out for the h2o's out there. That's why I stick with air cooled scooters.
The newer Harleys all have starter motors, key fobs and all kinds of other crap on them thats why I stick with my 1945. Great kickstart and no chrome to rust. Har Har Har.
Who the hell came up with the idea that you could use a liquid (not water) to help cool the internal combustion engine. Bound to be problems with that idea! Has this liquid cooled idea ever been put to the test with other gasoline engines? I say lets try it on cars and trucks and Japanese and German motorcycles before we ever test it on Harleys. I am taking my bike back and asking for one just like it but air cooled. I been reading for the last five years that the new Harleys with air cooled motors were running too hot, like big time way too hot, but FUDGE I didn't think they were going to try to correct that.
All I know is that blue is my favorite color that is one beautiful bike!! Next spring, these coolant issues will be gone and we will be having a great time riding our new bikes. Actually everyone will be enjoying riding their bikes, new or old, that's what it's all about right???

That is what it's all about. I hope you're correct that the coolant issues will be gone next year. I'd also like to see the Infotainment issues put to rest. It's all getting pretty old.
Well, Let's see if I can remember all the issues...
1. Most times when I turn on the bike the radio plays from rear speakers only until I have to go into the Audio Menu to correct it via the Fader control.
2. FM Radio receeption sucks. It pops loudly from time to time. Sounds like some sort of loud static pop.
3. When a phone call comes in while streaming BT music from iphone, the iphone stops playback and will not start playback after call drops. Have to shut bike off and back on to re-boot.
4. Volume will not work sometimes. Again, have to shut bike off to reboot.
5. Navigation sometimes shows incorrectly. I have seen North facing 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock even when I have it set to North UP.
6. Nav icon, if you change from the arrow to a bike, it will NOT stay on bike. It ALWAYS goes back to arrow.
7. My left speaker sounds like it's not working sometimes or barely working. Most all the sound sounds like it comes from the right. Sucks for stereo imaging.
That's all I can remember for now.
Having the same issues with my limited radio, except for the left speaker problem. I-phone 5 problems are disappointing. Fade problems are a PITA on start up. No puking problems but bike is at dealer right now for thermostat replacement and some new wheels, as the impeller rims absolutely suck to clean.
