Yea, it's frustrating to say the least. Was your bike leaking at the thermostat?
If you turn the bike off by the fork lock and not the kill switch that seems to minimize the fade issue.

No leaks. Dealer wanted to replace thermostat on HD's recommendation. Apr.650 miles before weather turned sour here in Indiana.

Dropped her off at the dealer to get some stuff done.

1. Installing a replacement tour pack lid. The original had a paint defect.
2. Coolant bottle filler neck program fix to stop the burping of coolant.
3. Thermostat is leaking at the elbow like everyone else's is.
4. Front left speaker is playing at 10db lower volume than the other 3 speakers.
5. Program the ECM so that the spots are on even with high beam.

Hopefully all can be fixed especially the stereo. I hate hearing all the sound coming from one side.

Well, I just feel the need to vent. UGH! So, I dropped off my bike at dealer two weeks ago. to fix the above 5 things. I've been pretty patient only called them twice to check status. 3 days ago I called and was told all parts were in, 3 bikes ahead of mine, and He's handing the parts to the mechanic. My hope was I'd pick my bike up Friday night, but they never called. So, this afternoon I went to the dealer to talk face to face.

Dealer explained that the only thing we were waiting on was the Velcro that holds the tourpak liner in the lid. Guy started apologizing, blaming, and pointing at a guy in the shop saying "It's that guys fault and he was fired yesterday, blah, blah, blah." I told him I don't freakin' care who's fault it is. It's not my problem you had to fire that guy. I just want my bike. I asked him if all the other work was done, and he said the fired guy new what was going on with my bike, and he didn't. At this point, I'm pissed and tell him to find me someone who DOES know what's going on with my bike. He goes to find the mechanic....

Longer story short, I go back to back to see my bike. First I notice there are smudges and scratches on the faring and saddlebag lids, I let the guy know I spent 3 hours detailing the **** out of my bike before I dropped it off, and now it's got scratches all over. I let him know I'm not happy at all with that. Then the mechanic goes through what he did. 1. Replaced the tour pak lid minus the missing trim and Velcro. 2. Performed the coolant bottle neck program. 3. Replaced the left front speaker. 4. Says he couldn't find a leak in the thermostat, so didn't do anything. 5. I forgot to ask about the flashing the bike so spots stay on with high beam.

I originally was going to take my bike because I was so pissed, but I decided to leave it with them until the Velcro comes in. Guy apologized for the service and said he'd have the bike detailed before I pick it up. UGH! We'll see what the outcome is, but I'm pretty sure the thermostat will leak since they didn't do anything regarding that. God, I hate leaving my bike at the dealer.

Thanks for letting me vent.

With the new cam and the higher compression that the cooling allows, the stock motor with just slip-ons added is a better performer than the 110 stock motor used to be.

Check out Fuel-Moto's dynos in the bagger dyno thread. 79.91hp, 98.98 ft-lbs. Pretty damn nice numbers for a stock 103 motor. I can't wait to see what I get with the stage 1 AC and a nice set of head pipes as well as the Rinehart 4" slip-ons I've already got on there now.
Dont care whay anybody says. Its not real cooling. Its Pseudo Cooling. V Rod has real cooling. I would've went for the Ultra and waited for real water cooling someday.

I feel your pain. I bought a 13 limited last May. I brought it in for my 1000 mile service and decided to wait for the bike. The tech rides it out of the shop, turns it off says here u go all set. Then proceeds to wipe my fairing off with a greasy rag. ON MY BRAND NEW BIKE that I spent the whole previous day washing and detailing. When I asked him nicely please stop he says "what are special or something? I said no I'm not special but my bike is special to me so please take your dirty rag off of my bike." These dealership employees don't get that we spend a lot of money on out bikes. We are just a number to them. Will never go back to that dealer ever.

Thats pretty darn cocky on the employees part. My dearlership had a 18 yr old come out and proceed to start prying on a snap on the lower with a screw driver. I was like Stop Dude. what the heck are ya doin. never went back again. same thing CLUELESS on the amount of hard earned cash we spend on these things

Man, you have had the worst luck with that bike.

Re the thermostats, Everybody's isn't leaking. I've had the good luck to have a non leaker from the start. My buddy went through four and now finally has a non leaker, so maybe they have a handle on that now. They seem to leak when cold. Don't know what the ambient temps are in your area right now.

Did the bike actually have scratches or just dirty? If you've got scratches in the clear coat, you've got new problems now.

I've got to get mine in for the filler neck now that winter seems to be coming to an end here in NJ. it's been raining since the temp went up a week ago. I got the bike out two days last week.
