plz. Handlebar help

I have a 01 softail custom (for sale) and finally upgraded to a roadking

. My question is I have a set of 1 1/4 16 inch wide glide apes on my softail currently and was wondering if they will fit on a roadking and what I need to change to put them on? The controls look the same.

What year is your Road King? If it is 2008 or newer the old bars will not work due to the throttle by wire set up on the newer baggers.

Sorry the roadking is a 2003 softail was a 2001. Bars will fit and very wide base.

I have read that all new cables are needed but im not sure why. Brake maybe but clutch looks the same.

Nobody know's if the bars will fit?

The bars will work without problem. I would think the cables you have should work too, except if the RK has cruise control you will need a different throttle and idle if you wish to utilize that feature.
