If you are not careful here, someone will steal the shirt right off of you back. And possible your undershorts as well.

You unlockers don't live within 10 miles of NYC. They will steel anything...anything. Have had the tire stem cover stolen for God sake. Lost a helmet, gloves and at the dealer my tail light cover. A good friend had her tank emblems stolen off her bike at the CheeseCake Factory. I lock my bike in my own garage and anywhere I park and still never let it outside my view. Carry my helmet, coat, etc...or they are gone.
Now if you break into my home and I'm there you will be shot on the spot. Do like the dumpster deal there.

It is getting worse. On the road lock down what I can. This summer lost a Willie G hat off the gas tank when I went into the gas station.

At the 110th I had someone try to steal my luggage rack at Hal's. The wires for the LED light snagged and they left it.

It seems to be getting worse. West Coast trip I never slept more than 30 feet from the bike. Everything came into the room with me. Saddle bags too!

Unfortunately this is one of the places I would trust the least. What better place for some low-life scum to shop. There is always someone hanging out at their bike (at least we think it's their bike) checking something out, changing a bulb, adjusting something, taking something off to take inside to have it checked (again at least we think it's their bike). What's open and inconspicuous is mostly un-questioned. General attitude is no one will mess with a brother's bike at a dealership - what used to be unfortunately isn't anymore in this day-and-age. I lock EVERYTHING when at a dealership up to and including pulling my rider backrest and locking it in the tour pack. Damn shame but reality can be expensive.

Yep, I lock everything down no matter where I park. If staying at a hotel I pull everything out of the tour pack and saddlebags. I had my favorite jean jacket that was bungeed to seat stolen after having a few drink at the local watering hole. I also had a 80 Wide Glide stolen years back. Not a great feeling walking out to the parking lot and discovering your bike is gone.

Bike stays locked everywhere I go, saddlebags and tourpac even locked in the garage. If someone comes round my house messing around they better hope they can catch a 380 bullet in their teeth,lol...

Had my saddle bags stolen twice. If they want it-they'll take it.

I lock the ignition, forks, helmet, jacket and take the electronic do da's with me. Haven't had anything stolen yet. It's not worth the risk just to save one minute to lock it up.

I live/ride in a helmet required state and the hassle of trying to get home without a helmet, and a ticket, is just not worth it.

I use a cable lock thru the helmet (and jacket sleeves) and around both the front wheel and the frame.
