I got a friend who carries his pet Ball Python with him (in a saddlebag) sometimes to events. An he carries it around sometimes, but main stays in one or the other of his bags. He is getting somebody to reach in the bag to hand him something.

At BBB this year it was me! I was tired, thinking about something else, took the bait and almost pissed myself. It was about an hour past dark. I freaked when I touched it, and flung it. It landed at the feet of a pre-teen girl at the next camp over who were all watching a movie on the side of their 5th wheel. She starts running and screaming "snake" at the top of her lungs!

Somebody else was giving someone instruction as to where the gun was in the trailer. Somebody else turned a huge Husky\wolf looking thing loose. I knew it would kill the snake, so I grabbed the dog and he grabbed me. Luckily he grabbed my prosthic right leg. he took me to the ground, but I was able to hang on to him. Barely!

On the ground I could only think two things. 1) Where the hell is that dam snake now? 2) I can't believe I'm fighting this dam dog to save it!

The snake, dog were both re-captured by their owners, and after the adrenaline wore off a huge round of apologies from both animal owners; along with some laughter and discussion of the events. An some new friendships were made.

When we got back to our camp; my friend said "I think he( the snake) is a little freaked out I'm going to let him sleep with us in the tent". I said "BS", or I'm getting the dog!

At this point I'm mildly irritated and said " look man you have got to find a better security system". He said "I don't know if someone had been messing with my bike I think that would of distracted them". Hard to argue that point I guess. For X-mas I'm giving him insurance agents card so he can get better coverage on stolen items. :-)

Someone stole the ram-ball mount off my bike while I was in my favorite B&G. Everything else was locked up...never imagined someone would remove parts.

No use for thieves.

Default lock

I lock everything up, but I had a pair of good glasses taken from my windshield bag at the Harley dealer, so now I even throw those in TP. Scumbags are everywhere and if its simple to grab something they will.

Now if you break into my home and I'm there you will be shot on the spot. Do like the dumpster deal there.
Can't imagine why anyone would want to live in a place like that.

Too funny!

I don't normally lock my stuff up either. From time to time if I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling about the place or the people around, I'll lock it up but for the most part, I leave it unsecured.

Put an ole style mousetrap under it... gets noisy when the reach under it to pick it up....

I normally don't. It just kind of depends where I am. I have forgot my key to the Heritage many times. To be honest not really sure where they are now, in the house somewhere. With the Limited I lock if travelling and parked overnight somewhere.

I too ride with the bags locked, I usually lock the forks, or at least turn the ignition so it looks locked, if that makes sense, I guess I have never had anything stolen and if they want it bad enough they will get it anyway... It's a sad state of affairs in our country probably shouldn't trust anybody.
