Been wanting a bike with a side car so I can take my Dog with me. I have never ridden one. When the day comes that I can't handle 2 wheels, i will do one or the other. I demo rode a tri glide, and was really surprised how fum they are.

I think I would try both and decide what I liked best.

My wife is on a trike now because of a bad leg. She likes it a lot and it still gives her the fun of riding. You don't have to be only on 2 wheels to be cool just ride what you want and enjoy life.

I got a trike a couple years ago because my wife was having trouble getting on and off the Ultra, kept catching her feet on the seat, fell once in the parking lot, so when she wants to ride we take the trike. When she stays home I take my RoadGlide Custom!!

I was talking with a guy, 65, and he had bought a trike and kept his two wheels trying to sell it. He loves both bikes and was asking a bit too much for the two wheeler. He hired a personal trainer and works out 4 days a week and said that made a 10,000 percent difference in being able to get back on two wheels and is thinking about selling the three wheeler. He commented that he is stronger, lighter, sleeps better and fewer aches and pains than he had 20 years ago.

Hey I knew I could get some good thoughts on here from you guys. Yea we don't want to think about the end of two wheels and I have been riding for 40 years..I still am confident in my abilities but I did fall over slow speed in parking lot this spring ...the first time ever I have dumped a motor cycle....I did pick it up by my self... I have noticed slight pop up balance issues. Do we make a change when something bad happens....or do we make the decision for the safety before something very bad could happen. Not trying to be a downer here and those that are young keep it up but my friends are having heart issues and strokes and my day is coming...so I want to plan for it and keep riding something. I have driven a trike and it is fun..but not ready for one this week...The side car isn't what I think I could get used to...

I'm not even going to think about that right now. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Ride Safe! JR

I will be 59 shortly and have also been thinking about what I will ride in the future. I am still pretty healthy but at 5'7 and 170lbs I found my 2010 Ultra to be pretty heavy. I ride solo so I have removed some weight by removing the trunk, bag rails, passenger floor boards and bumper rails. This was a definite improvement making the bike easier to handle. I was going to test ride a trike at demo days this last summer but our only local dealer cancelled demo days. In the mean time as I keep looking at the trikes I think to myself I just can't go that route yet. This is based on just the looks since I have not ridden one yet. I'm thinking there might be one more bike in my future before a trike, possibly a Heritage Classic. I haven't ridden a Heritage yet but when I see the weight difference and the fact it sits closer to the ground it seems like a good posibility. For now the Ultra is doing great and will be with me for a while I hope.

If it's reaction times and judgement, a trike won't help. That's when I want lots of iron around me, and maybe some airbags. So for me, I'd be more inclined to be looking at geezer glide convertible cars, like say a Volvo c70 or such.

If we are talking weight and perhaps balance, I'd be more inclined to go with a landing gear setup. I designed one once decades ago, in part for a paraplegic friend. Still have a spare pump for it.
