I know there is a Hack/Trike place on here but not much action over there.
When or did you decide that two wheels isn't worth the risk..Older age reactions and balance, issues. Would you go with a trike or put on a sidecar to keep riding your Harley? Which have you done or thought about doing in your future with riding the Bike? You will get older and I'm guessing there are many on here that are closer to the end of riding two wheels. Just trying to decide for myself. Would like to hear thoughts of others

When/if the time comes that I can't handle 2 wheels, I'm fine with 3. It's still a harley and they have lots of storage for long trips. Retired and trikes seem to go together. Lots of time on your hands, and a scooter made to travel. I hope it never comes down to that, but if it does, I'll be on a batwing 3 Wheeler!
Certainly a personal choice. I dunno. I think if I end up lucky enough to get to that age I'll just put away the bike and buy a convertible Corvette and a bottle of Viagra.
Cruise me some retirement homes for hot babes or something.
Got a buddy with a bad lower back and he just "triked" his King this past year. He loves it.
We did a lot of tire kicking out in Sturgis in 011 and he settled in on the FBI kit, which he installed himself. All said and done he is into it for about 13.5K above what he had into his King (99).
Gives him the confidence to do the 800 mile days without issue, which is great for the group.
He went without reverse, and still runs a 5 speed, and keeping up is not an issue. We all ride newer ones with the 103" and 6 speeds.
i kind of dread that day....so far, at 61, i'm able to keep it upright. seems to be getting heavier all the time though. i wonder if they have a "help its fallen and i can't pick it up" alert button that you can wear around your neck like the ones advertised on t.v..

No three wheeler for this guy, I'm on my last Harley now and when that comfort and confidence I enjoy on that bike is gone for me, I have a mint C3 4 spd Vette waiting to take me through those golden years! I'm 52 and been riding since I was 16 but still feel as comfortable as I ever have on two wheels. It helps knowing that when the day comes to hang up the bike keys having something to fill in the void will help.
