What the heck is an oil pump alignment tool !!!!

It's pretty much a two threaded bolts that get TQ down in slots #2 & #4 of the oil pump before you TQ down the bolts in slots #1 & #3 This must be done to make sure the oil pump gets lind up nice and even while installing the Cam plate. I'm sure someone will give a better explantion then I can.

Use (2) 1977-1999 tappet block alignment tools. Can get them from Drag, V-twin etc.

You can use the alignment pins or do the rotation method described in the service manual.
