2014 Infotainment issues Part 2.
First a correction:
AVC is working, although hardly noticeable, because the effect is miniminiminimal.....
Not possible to make a bluetooth phone call with my Samsung Note 2
after update to 1.17.1.1 (released 08/27/2013......)
Phone on the other side rings, at the same time my bluetooth is completely gone untill cold reset. (rest of trip listening to the radio)
Strange with 1.16.9 no problem!!!
More strange is: no problem at home testing in the garage.
Also strange: during A2DP playback sometimes stops for a few seconds.
When stopping repeats a few times, same situation as with calling.
Positive news:
I managed to import my Garmin addresses (waypoints).
The Igo database can hold 200, mine was about 350.
After deleting some 150 adresses with Mapsource (save as *.gpx) the import was done.
More positive news:
Still riding.
So far no snow or ice or salt on the roads, only 'sometimes' rain.
To be continued.....
Stopped at my Dealer today and was told by the Service Writer they had just upgraded a 4.3 to 6.5 and while setting it up with the Digital Tech, they came across a setting to enable use of an external gps, but he didn't know how an external gps would be connected, or how it would play. So he called Milwaukee for details while I was there.
Part number 69200610, audio jack jumper, will plug into the harness behind the radio, inside the fairing (after "rearranging the CB" - no one's sure what that means). There is no literature available, no bulletin has been issued, a parts # search on the public site yields no matches, so no one is sure what it looks like, how it connects, or how it works - but the resource in Milwaukee believes it will deliver full-interrupt nav directions from a handlebar mounted gps to the 6.5 while allowing the rider to listen to radio, mp3s or phone. It might even work with the 4.3.
My Dealer has put one on order (~$40) because they want to learn/know as badly as I do. A $1,800 upgrade to the 4.3 or a $40 adapter? Hmmmmm.
