I do not see Harley changing this just for a very few people as the system works well for most riders. I am like most of you I want the features provided by the Garmin GPS.

This is how I solved the issue and it works just like having an Auxiliary Input on the new radios. I purchased an FM transmitter (stereo) and connected it to the Garmin's Audio Output. I then selected the FM channel on the Infotainment system and saved it as a Favorite Station.

Now when I want to listen to the turn prompts or play my MP3's, listen to XM and get the weather and traffic alerts I just select FM and push the preset I saved. The phone synced to the radio (Not the Garmin) will work just as it did before but it will interrupt the radio no matter what function you are on. I never listened to any radio function on the old radio's I just left it in the AUX mode.

Paid $49.00 for the FM transmitter. Lots of them available some more expensive and some less expensive.

Just my way of solving the issue of using my Garmin with the new Infotainment system.

When you get down to it you could have a dozen Auxiliary Inputs if you wanted just by adding FM transmitters.

Pretty sad that you have to use a Garmin at all really seeing you just bought a Infotainment system with NAV.

I have to agree that the FM transmitter is not the cats meow for the reason that when you are touring you may have to pick another frequency. It works for me locally, within a few hundred miles (so far). The transmitter I have will automatically scan for 4 unused frequency's or you can set it manually. That feature may come in handy and make it a little less of a pain in the butt. You still have to set it to one of the unused frequency's it will not do it all by itself. It is a fast and inexpensive fix for the time being and may help some folks in riding clubs that usually just take day rides of a few hundred miles on the back roads and it will allow them to use the Garmin to plan their days worth of adventuring. At present I have it inside the cowling (first thought). I disassembled the cigarette power adapter and wired it directly to the cigarette lighter. I am thinking of moving it to the tour pack where I can just plug it in the power adapter and it will be easy to get to in case I do need to retune it. Second thoughts are sometimes better then the first. Be a bit harder to install and will require a 6' 3.5mm stereo extension cable but what the heck it's winter.

Sorry I did not say which product I bought. I got it at Best Buy and it is a ISimple JamKast model 1SFM31. I am not recommending this to anyone I am just saying in order to reduce the number of the emails I received asking me.

Yes, I used mine (I used a Belkin Tunecast) in the Tourpak, Jim. I think maybe less of a problem in the US, but touring in Europe, the frequencies are so crowded, it was a problem every half hour or so.

After many failed attempts, ( if it works for Jim's, then why not on mine? ) today for the first time i paired my Nuvi 765T successful.
So, in this case , persistence wins!
The only thing is : no tag info, understandable because the intention of this A2DP use is a headset.
For the rest......to be continued.

NEW PROBLEM - I rode the other day. After a few minutes, I tried to adjust the volume. Nothing. Turned the radio off. Waited a minute or two. Turned it back on, still nothing. Pulled over and shut the bike down. Waited about two minutes. That fixed it. Same thing I've had to do twice before when the NAV locked up. Nothing on my radio or handle bar controls (for the radio) responded.

Good thing I have a habit of turning the volume down before turning the vehicle off.

Yea, that's happened to me many times.

Has anyone found a helmet Bluetooth that will pair with the infotainment system and work.

I've seen many threads on multiple forums about that, and to my knowledge it will not work.

That is my opinion as well. In fact I don't believe it's even a technical possibility at this point. I don't feel there is a blue tooth profile available to do it. The honda and BMW systems do not do this either.
