Diff Daymaker Headlights
Yeah, the original Daymaker (projector type) is a JW Speaker product. Cool looking, not such a cool performer) needs support from good passing lights to illuminate properly.
Great info guys. I love how everyone is putting in some knowledge. This should deff help me and others alike.
So with that being said. If you want a setup on a Street Glide my understanding is that it would be better to go with a Reflector LED if you want to remain solo. Rather than the projector LED (Daymaker) because that would perform better with passing lamps.
Is this correct???
Or would it make a difference???
Or is the stock dual halogen bulb good enough???

As to the personal choice – It depends on where and how you ride. If you ride a lot of twisty forest roads, then wider light pattern is more important, of course. In this case reflector would serve you better, especially with matching reflector passing lamps.
On the long high speed straights, on the contrary, projectors will throw more light further away and you will see things earlier and be able to react faster.
There is nothing wrong with halogen bulbs they just draw more power and are afraid of vibration. LEDs have longer life and less consumption.
There are better then stock halogen bulb options, they output more lumens then stock, but still less then a good LED setup.
For those that don't care about how traditional passing lights setup looks, I would recommend the system that I am buying for my next bike – Clearwater Darla. These lights are small, mounted on crash bars or front callipers, and are very effective. See the attached pics.
My bike arrives to the dealer first week of january (I really hope so) and I will install Darla lights right away, this will be my first mod.
