Mike,I was having the same problem with my 2013 RK.Seemed to run hotter or the factory lowered the temp setting for the rear cyl to cut out.I removed the cat from the header pipe and added a NightRider FL-Vied-10.I am running CVO mufflers with 2" Fullsac baffles and have been well pleased with the cooler engine temps.I don't have the exact temp readings before or after, but now the heat management system does't kick in as quick as before and the weather is hot here in Florida in the summer.

It might be minuscule but makes one wonder if this is another HD engineering oops, you know like cam chain shoes that self destruct after x miles.
Its not just 103s, they all get hot at sustained highway speeds. I made this observation a while back , but maybe the idea will get some traction now that its been published in American Iron. The old saying that as long as you're moving you're cooling is not entirely accurate, there is a rather narrow band of operation where the engine sheds as much heat as its making, it depends primarily on speed and RPM, but quite a few factors have influence.

For a cooler running bike ditch the cat and richen the mixture with x-ieds. Bike will run so much better and cooler.
