On my Road King, I have the panel mounted plug-ins for my Gerbing gear. I want to use the battery tender......( do not know the name of the quick disconnect plug)........ plug, already on my Buell. I went on Gerbing site and there is no adapter for the RCA type to the battery tender type.
I'm sure I can go to an auto parts store and buy the plug and just splice the wires to the Gerbing stuff, But would prefer to have a factory made piece.
Any ideas? Thanks..........
Also..what are the battery tender dual ends called???
The pigtail adapter is available from HD. I used it last week for 18 hours straight with gloves and jacket both set to max as I outran a snowstorm. No problem.
When I first got my heated gear, it was ill advised to use the battery tender plug. Something to due with amps. And not having a in line fuse.
Fast forward today (2 weeks ago) local HD dealer had them for like $7.95 or $8.95 on their heated gear rack.
One of my riding bros got one at a BMW dealer for $10.95 but after researching it, he also elected to return it and use the the one with the inline fuse.
One of the primary things you should look for in a connector other than the ability to carry the current is it's quick disconnect feature. When ya get off the bike after riding, ya will, on occasion forget to disconnect it. If it's a tight connection, you may rip the wires apart or from the battery posts. The Gerbing connector was made with this kind of incident in mind.
