Noise and grabbing during decel

'08 Ultra Classic,69440 miles. Just replaced compensator with latest S.E version.
test ride had noise and grabbing during decel in 1st and 2nd gear.
tried new primary chain tensioner,helped a small bit.
Can feel it grabbing and jerking the drive train during decel in gear.
Hate to continue to throw new parts at problem til I get it right.
Anybody else gone though this? Thanks

Was the problem there prior to the comp change?

sounds like the primary drive is loose/tight or clutch slipping

check chain tension again at multiple locations

check that comp is properly torqued

check that tensioner is working correctly

check clutch adjustment

Problem not there prior to comp install.assembly of comp and torque checked twice.did not take clutch off.
Will check clutch adj,,would a stretched out prim. chain cause this?

Were the ramps on the new compensator at the lowest position when you installed it?
