My take: Unless you're gonna trade every year you're gonna always have the "old style" something...mine is an 08 (police model no less) and has 50K wobble free miles. It does have TruTrack and a 200 tire etc, etc, because every time I get the urge to trade I buy something new for it and am still money ahead compared to chasing the newest model. Really, I have yet to see a bike (any year) that I would trade mine for because every $ spent on it was spent making it MINE...
Ibewlinelife, that is a gorgeous bike. Good luck, whatever you decide to do.
If you find yourself on my side of the river give me a shout and I'll show you how easy you can get a 180mm tire on the back, whatever you want on the front, upgrade the gearing to that of an '09up, improve handling and looks for a lot less money than you would think. It is possible to make all these upgrades and still end up with a lighter weight bike than an '09 and for less $ than moving to an '09up. Makes for a great winter project. We got lots of winter left. If interested read my thread linked below. I haven't seen an '09 yet that I would want to trade for.
Thank you sir! I tried to look at your pictures but for some reason I can't.. I'm glad I started this thread because I think I'm going to keep her! I'm about an hour from Port Huron and would definitely like to pick your brain about getting a 180 on the back.. I don't have a welder so it might be a challenge for me...

The way I ride the new ones will do nothing for me. Personally they are getting to be put togher cheaper every year. If you want a 09 and up get you one if you like the big tire but if I decide I want a bigger tire it want be a 180 like all the new ones anybody can go buy it will have at least a 230 and not every one on the road will have one.
I really haven't ever noticed the wobble but I come from a sport bike racing back ground so I'm used to riding a bike to the edge and have had some wild head shake situations on the track... I do like the technology that Harley is putting into these new bikes but I love the classic old school iron..

Beautiful bike you have and I 100 % agree.... Right now as my bike sets it has a SE stage one kit but want some more power for when I load it down and for some passing/play power... Not looking for anything crazy but have been looking at 107 kits and possibly taking off the SE turner and using a thundermax (if It will help with tune ability and later modifications) I will probably have more to play with but as of right now I have around $4500-$5000 to play, which don't seem like a whole lot looking at some of the prices.. So looking at performance mods, Wheels, and a Progressive suspension... I think paint is on hold due to funds but was looking at a color change to Red Hot Sunglo..

I purchased my 08' new. I've modded it quite a bit......180 tire on my bike, lowered front fender, oil change in rear shock and front forks, SERG seat, painted inner fairing, 107 build, etc. My bike rides better than new. Wouldn't trade it for a new one either.
Thanks. I recall the thread. Didn't take much interest, as it turned out to be a pissin' contest.
Almost any bike will wobble in a sweeper if you push it hard enough. Don't believe me, just check out some AMA Superbike or MotoGP riders as they corner.
My 2007 Street Glide has never wobbled. I ride within its limits and don't push to hard through corners. I have a BMW for this purpose.
[QUOTE=vickers1;12302961]I've had an '08 and I can tell you before you spend a lot of money on mods, sell it and get an '09 up. You'll be glad you did for a lot of reasons.[/QUOTE
