I have an 04 Electra Glide Classic with security. The batteries in the remote are almost dead, and my friend said I need to buy a new remote. Is this true or can I just pop it open and replace the battery?
Well which one is it? Ive got 2 different answers here. I hope I can just replace the battery, Im sure if I have to buy a remote from the MoCo, it will cost out the a$$.
Get a new battery and replace it at the dealers location that way if there is a problem, you can get it rectified immediately.
Also a word of advice: Set the PIN on the security system and test it. I don't trust my remote and I'm going to bet it fails at the worst possible time. So I set my PIN in my security system and then tested it to see if it would disable the alarm and allow me to start the bike without the remote. Worked like a champ!
