LeeH - I sent my seat to Mean City Cycles http://www.meancitycycles.com/index....186&Itemid=226 and they did a seat mod lowingering me by near 2". I would be a bit concerned about going too low and scraping in the turns with a UC that low. It cost about $350 with heat added to both driver and passanger, $115 without heat. Just a thought.

I'm anxious to put them on but it's -6* with windchill where I live right now.

Just looking at them it looks like the 412 would work, they have a smaller base. The 444 and so on look a lot fatter at the base of the shock.

Got to ride today for the first time with my 12.5" standard spring 412s and what a difference vs stock. For me at 220lbs it's perfect in the middle notch for solo riding and I don't know when I'll do any 2up but I assume I'll be at the last notch. I probably should have gone with the heavy duty springs but I'm not complaining since I ride solo 95% of the time. I can't tell any noticeable difference in height but I just put on new chrome wheels too so I don't mind showing those off even if it's a little higher.
