Riding with sciatica
Yeah I'm going to get one.Spent about 3 hours on the RK with stock seat yesterday.Back is usual but *** was hurting right about at where thigh joins *** underneath.Think I'll be giving Mean City and Corbin a ring this week.My stock seat doesn't have provision for a back rest but my Corbin does.
Many, MANY issues catching up with me to fire up sciatica. Was a heavy truck, heavy equipment wrench for 20+ years, kept practicing the application up thru to today on my own crap at a farm. Set fence post(wood and steel) by hand and still do, smoked like a fiend for literally decades then quit one for expense the second for health and gained 50 pounds when food tasted better, swapped out to a different occupation at the end of the 20th century, went from straight nights to a rolling schedule and that changed from 8 hour to 12 hour shifts days, nights, weekends and holidays are all game so added more weight from my body not knowing when or if to eat so ate all the time and now over 280 from the 160 I was at 28.
Then it just sucks to wake up one morning to look at the ancient stranger staring back in the mirror realizing it was me, sucks to get old with arthritis knocking on all those previous injuries from being young, bulletproof and more or less too stupid to realize yes I can get old one day!!
Sciatica is just one of my ails, have bursitis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel(but not bad enough to cut on), degenerative disc disease affecting C5/6/7, arthritis in both hands from injuries dating back to the 70's, literally blind in one eye from injury in the 80's, can't see well with the other and too stubborn to give up, quit all the side play and just die!!
Soon enough I won't have to choose but for now I play on and deal with it as it comes, good seat on the ride, good bars at a decent extend, good ride to start with and I am set to make more miles and more states enjoying the time I can get.
