Default 200 Avon Cobra Rear?

Already Guys, I've used the search function, I've used Google, and I can't find a for sure answer. Just traded my Fat Bob late last year and moved up to a 2012 Street Glide. I know I need to update my Avatar & Info, promise I will when I'm done with my current winter mods. Anyway enough of me rambling on. I currently have my front end off (painted fairing, chrome fork lowers, and 21" DNA Mammoth Wheel), being put back together this weekend. The wheel I ordered came with an Avon 120/70-21. My question is I'm still running the stock rear rim, 16" I think. Couldn't afford a matching rear wheel at this time. What's the biggest rear Avon Cobra I can go with? I'm pretty sure stock is a 180, I had a 200 on my Fat Bob and Loved It! Hey Thanks Guys in advance.

Have you called Avon they should know what the largest tire that will fit and what others have put on their bike.

They just recommended the stock size 180/65b-16. Anybody have any suggestions? If not guess I'll just go with a 180.

i looked into this cpl years ago as i did same transistion as you. i never got a straight answer but from what i could find out it can be ran. they reason i never tried it was the difference in tread life between the 180 & 200. 180 last double and cost less than the 200. you really cant see it under there anyways and the handling change would not be huge i dont think.

I had a 200 with a 21 on an 09 Street Glide and it had a lot of wobble in high speed curves. Went back to the 180 and it helped stop the wobble.

On a 16x5 the 180/65/16 is really the only size there is. I am sure of you could find a 200/16 it would probably fit but I don't know of a tire in that size. With the stock wheel s you are stuck at that size. You'll get much better mileage out of a Michelin Commander II, a Dunlop American Elite, or a Metzeler ME888 than the Cobra.

Hey Thanks for the replies. I know I can get more miles out of other tires but I guess my loyalty to Avon goes back to my CBR F-4 Days. Here in East Tenn the Avons stick so well in mountains. The 180 stock size it is! You guys are a Big Help...and a HUGE EXPENSE! I'll post pics and update my Avatar in the next few weeks.
