Default King Tour Pak fitment

I am interested is the possibility of installing the King Tour Pak from a 2014 model on my 2008 model. The newer model has almost 2000 more cubic inches of space but I'm not sure if the mounts are the same. Thanks for any info you could share.

You should be OK. Just added one to my 2013 CVO Road King.

TH\here is a whole thread of several people adding them to older bikes. Not sure if there was anyone who added it to an 08

The mounts for tour pak and backrest changed in 09. You would have to make a mounting plate that would fit the 08 tour pak rack and accept the mounting bolts from the 14 tour pak.

Might want to do a search I think someone here has done it.

I used the 2014 rack as it matches up to the 4 point docking but if you already had the mount yes a mod would be needed

Quick question to anyone that may know.....I am looking at a tour pack for '09-'13 touring models, will the 4 point hardware match up to my '17 road glide?

I don't know the answer to your question, I used a 14+ tour pak rack and had to make a spacer to lift the tour pak up a bit. I used a nylon cutting board about 3/8 thick and used the rear mounting holes. The saddlebags can be opened without hitting the tour pak but it's pretty close.

I have a 2014+ trunk on my 2008.

I bought
this mount this mount
. The mount is for 2008 down.

I bought
this trunk this trunk
. The trunk is for 2014+.

I bought this
this mounting plate this mounting plate
for the inside. The plate is for 2014+.

I had to get 2 sticks of 2"x1/4x4' steel. We cut them to length, and made adapters out of them.

The 4 holes in the trunk did not line up with the 4 holes on the rack. We used the 4 holes in the trunk to line the rack up, but ultimately had to drill new holes.

Holes 1 and 2 mount through the plate on the inside, the trunk, and the mount on the bike. Holes 2 had to be drilled. Holes 3 only mount through the inside plate and the trunk.

Heck I adapted a King tour pack from my ‘05 RK to fit on my ‘17 SGS. ...it can be done....and yes your rack will fit the 4 point docking ....
