12 volt question
I picked up a used tour pack for my 04 RK from an EG with the same paint, very nice. But I need to put together a harness for the running lights. That's not a problem, but the question I pose is: I have a 120 volt to 12 volt transformer for LED undercabinet lights on hand, is there any reason I can't connect that to the tour pack lights just to test them?
And on the flip side, I have some leftover LED tape light from the kitchen project, is there any reason I couldn't maybe use it as tour pack lighting and connect it direct to the bike's 12v system? Or kaboom?

I have 12VDC under cab lights in my tourpak.
you just have to check you have the polarity correct.
of any of the wires is marked in any way, that'll be the + side
for your wiring project, it may halp you to know the H-D wiring color code
black is ground
blue is "run" light
red/yellow stripe is brake light.
I use a flat 4 trailer plug for my tourpak
the 4th pin is for fused power from the battery that runs to charger in my tourpak for phone, camera, computer, ipod etc, also the leds light in the tourpak ( mercury switch, lid opens, they go on)
the trailer plug has leds on it which is handy for trouble shooting, the "female" end is wrapped with velcro and i stock it to my shock tower when not in use. the other end of this is wired into the bike wiring harness under the seat
