Keep laughing until your ears start ringing. You are completely clueless on this one. It is the wind that damages the cilia in your ear canals and PERMANENTLY damages your hearing. Ask any of us old timers. Tinnitus is NOT funny. The use of earplugs has NOTHING to do with how loud your pipes are.
I might know more about ear damage than you think there Mr. big word thrower arounder !! My Sister is a Doctor of Audiology and she learned me stuff !!
Seriously, when she rides it is with a full helmet and custom ear plugs. I have a set too she insisted I have her make but I never wear them.
You are actually the clueless one. The OP never said it was wind noise. Losing some of your reading comprehension skills ??
Apparently so! I paid more attention to the subsequent posts than to the OP. You are quite right. I seem to be losing my eyesight as well as my hearing. Touche!

I hope your eyesight holds out at least 20-30 more riding seasons.
Is that a factory color ? Years back I took a glass of purple kool aid to a paint store to mix me some that matched my favorite flavor. I think it was a little lighter than your though. I like it. Hopefully your failing eyesight does not make it a purple haze !!
I actually am going to start wearing my glasses at nite now, getting old can suck.
I wear ear plugs 100% of the time when I ride, I wear earplugs when I use any power tool or when cutting the grass...trying to save what hearing I have left.
Moldex Rocket are the best and most comfortable ones Ive tried.
I hope your eyesight holds out at least 20-30 more riding seasons.

Yeah, it's a factory color, limited custom available for a few months which, until they started with these "candy" metal flake colors was the only way H-D released purple bikes. Purple has always been my favorite color. Funny you should say "purple haze." That was what the MoCo called the color of my Sporty.
And you're right that aging sucks. As my 87 year-old mother says, "Growing old ain't for sissies."
