Bike looks good and you will be happy with the 21 up front ... I recently put a 21 on and love it ...

2.) handling will be affected, you may find the bike feels more stable on straight highways, a little tougher at low speeds
and turns. a smaller tire contact patch = less traction. if you took a rider course than you know how this affects you this is not a modification I would do ( I have other bikes, and my touring bike needs to be 'touring capable'), I'd suggest you follow the path of other guys who have done this. make sure the tire you select is rated for the weight of the bike. Don't do anything stupid, like removing a brake rotor. If you do, please don't ride behind me. lowering the bike can get your fender smacking the triple tree on a pothole if you go with another wheel, get a fender to match- stock fenders on custom skinny wheels look 1/2 done.

Mike, my 2015 Softail speedometer is read from the front wheel, not the transmission, will this effect the speedometer readings?

that is for your abs, not your speedometer. your speedo is driven off of the tranny also.

completely agree, I did the 21 on my 06 SG and it performed much better than stock, I did lower the front down 1.5" so it had the same ride height and geometry, the tire is not narrower than the crappy HD rubber, , the Metzelers I went with were a way better tire, I kept the stock dual rotor. and with just a slight mod to the stock fender it fit just fine.

Snap - I used Metzeler white wall on the front 21", I've left the rear stock as the bags mostly hide the wheel (thinking to increase tire size to 150mm when the need arises) and the ride is awesome. Also added the Progressive suspension on the front and lowered the bike 1.5" and rides bloody great. I also upgraded the rear with an aftermarket air suspension but after a short while, took it off as the bike rode too low scraping the exhaust even at the highest level - added the Progressive RAP suspension now in rear and the bike rides like a dream with matching suspension.
