They work for me. I installed Wild Pig Slip ons and and wanted only to richen up the mix. So I bought the variable ones. My MPG went down as expected but I am not running lean and I don't care about fuel economy much. I think I am avging 34MPG. I am more concerned with heat and a lean running motor I have a set of WardWerks fans on order as well.
For those like myself who want to keep their bikes stock or be able to go bone stock in 30 minutes, XEIDs are a great alternative to a tune. I do not plan on doing a Stage 1 or dealing with "tunes". The 103 is plenty fast enough. The Xeids are a cheap fix to the EPA requirements.
For those who want to build their bikes up with intake and major exhaust mods the Xeids are not an alternative to a tuner but since they can be sold easily used not a waste of money either.

Subscribed to this thread.... I put some slip on (Street Cannons) on about a month ago on my 2014 SGS. Bike runs good, but would like to richen up the mixture a bit. Would like to see everyones opinion as well.
They snap on in just a couple minutes, and are color coded (Grey and Black) so you know which one goes where.
Do not believe they are suited for a bike with cats, as the extra fuel may cause them to run even hotter, but if your bike does not have cats these will make your bike run cooler, smoother, more torque, less clutch slipping, and require less downshifting.
Bought mine from classifieds on this forum. If you go this way, you can always resell them for the same price if you end up wanting something more expensive.
13 Heritage with Vance and Hines straight shot slip on's. Stock air cleaner. Running FL-Vied's at about 75%.
Bike is running well. Not noticing any heat issues, even when working traffic and lights.
I sure hope they work as I am waiting on mine to arrive, as said in multipe posts and through my own extensive research if you are NOT doing major changes they are worth the money.
Honestly I have no interest in changing a bunch of stuff to gain more HP, my bike is fast enough, I am not racing a Ducati...Iwill get there when I get there...I want a bit cooler ride with no pinging....I bought the adjustable VIED-10's from another member whom upgraded,,,I forsee them to be on mine until I decide to sell it and buy a 2019.

WAIT....this can't be right...the Nightrider Website says they are perfectly suited to 100% stock bikes to reduce the heat by richening the fuel? Did I miss something as I do not want to gut my cat because I am planning to head to Asia and need to be as close to stock as possible....

No, it is NOT right. They are ABSOLUTELY suited for, and designed for bikes with cats. Go to the nightrider site. It explains it in depth. I have them on my '13 WITH the cats installed and slip on fishtails. The settings are of course different for catted, verses decatted pipes, but you are fine with a catted pipe. I have an S&S intake, and slips on tail pipes and am very happy with the VIEDS thus far. I have my adjustments set right about 80-85%. Popping is all but gone, great power and awesome throttle response.

WHEW!
For a second there I thought I screwed the Pooch...I just need someone with a full stock setup to give me some insight on where the most ammicable setting is..based on a similar altitude to here in Garmisch Germany (similar to the Denver/Boulder area I think).
Thanks for the input....
When I bought my current bike the pipes had been changed and it already had Nightrider vieds on it and ran fine. This spring I changed to a high flow A/C so upgraded to a Fuel Moto EFI Tuner. Was only $300 so was also good for having a budget.

I added to my earlier post, if you want to read that.
i've run xieds from sea level to 11,000 feets.
most of northern AZ is 5000' plus ( Flagstaff is at 7000')
I have thousands of miles at elevation.
Don't be afraid to pose questions to Nightrider, Steve is a smart cookie.
he will also honor a Mil Disc. if that applies to you
