Check the engine guard for any bends...I'm just suspicious about why the highway pegs fell off. Again, I'm just **** about buying used bikes. Even my 2002 had issues that I didn't discover until I had it for awhile...and it only had 5,000 miles on it when I bought it.
Thanks Whiskers!
I just talked to the guy. He didn't know a whole lot of details, because his uncle rode it a lot in the past, but told me it got serviced by two different Harley dealerships and a local bike shop "down the street". He agreed to get it checked out at my expense. He does have the windshield, but not the pipes and couldn't think of anything that comes with it. he said the rear tire is pretty new and the front one not quite as new. Clear title. he will give me the VIN. He didn't know about fender skirt. Highway pegs are trash - apparently one came off. He couldn't answer any of me more detailed questions with regards to tensioner, fork oil. I will get it checked out and go from there.
Mind you he is asking $7,500 OBO
Is this guy the owner? He sounds pretty clueless . Just wondering
HI again when I get home I'll check my paper work and see if I can get the part number for the long shots. They most likely don't make them any longer(for touring) seeing most go to duel pipes or 2 into 1. I believe in that era it was long shots and hyperchargers, for airflow and out take then true duels started popping up every where. But I do know I had them on my bike there sitting in the rafters up in the garage. 8)
