Default progressive drop ins

I bought the Progressive drop in lowering springs. The instructions say you need to pull the forks from the bike on an electra glide. Is there really no way to change them with the forks still in?

I have a set of drop in springs on my bench, waiting to be installed. Here's what I'm gonna do:

1. Remove ignition switch housing
2. Remove top caps on fork legs
3. Loosen pinch bolts
4. Remove brake line mounting bolt to let brake lines hang free
5. Jack up bike, letting fork lower until spring caps are easy to access
6. Tighten pinch bolts
7. Remove spring caps, make sure front wheel is off the ground to lessen spring tension
8. Remove springs, install new main springs, top springs, and spacer with washers.
9. Get everything back in position, everything torqued properly, crack a cold one, and enjoy!
