the last time i checked, this is an open forum, with the emphasis on open.
Hadn't heard that...what I did hear was that this forum was for issues involving 'Touring Motorcycles'. There IS, however, an 'Off Topic' forum that is 'open'. Just was wondering what the nexus was between the incident & 'touring motorcycles' was...maybe you could edify me?
Sorry, probably should have researched the bylaws before posting my account of an unusual occurance observed from the seat of a touring bike. I've seen interesting threads on the touring forum concerning the age of riders, bears, products, and rider trips so I guess I mistook those as acceptable fare. I did enjoy all of them, should I have done so?
Who knows, maybe the guy didn't see them because of the sun or some other distraction. Or he was just being a dick. Probably the latter. He was obviously trying to impress you and his judgment was definitely lacking. Jumping on a green light like that can have devastating consequences. He could have killed the woman. Lots and lots of accidents happen because someone is showing off.
Jumping "green lights" like that, somebody running that "long yellow" will end that practice before long.
yeah...that.
The quickest way to get t-boned and become an organ donor is jumping green lights. I never do it in my cage or on my ride. Nearly every light change there is always someone racing the yellow/red.
Darwinism will resolve for the bad @$$ biker and the joggers that trust in the law rather than their brain. Famous last words on the headstone:
" he had the right of way"

dont worry,,,its turned into a social media anyway.....what chaps to wear, what helmet to wear, what seat does everyone else have etc...
stupid joggers. crossing the street when they shouldn't. They deserved to get hit.... the law is there for everyone to follow. They put themselves in danger.
WTF??! The OP said they had the light when they began to cross, and then it changed afterward. The joggers still had the right of way, and it was the responsibility of the biker to wait until they were across the street and safe.
Interesting that your so quick to blame the motorcycle rider, and not the two joggers who tried to dart across an intersection as the light was changing. Seems there plenty of blame to go around.
The OP said the joggers were in the MIDDLE of the intersection when the light changed, not at the curb. That would indicate to me that they still had the right of way, and not the biker who was too clueless to notice that.
