steering lock
Well here we go spent almost three hours in a parking lot with a stuck steering lock, lucky someone gave a ride home and I got the tools to remove the lock assembly, and it looks like the spring is pretty rusted, question is can I fix this lock or should I just get a new one. My bike is a 2011Roadking.
alot of the road kings guys in my area have trouble with desert grit getting in the lock.
a cover can help with that.
I have had some luck cleaning gunk out of lock mechanisms using a "personal massager" to shake the grit loose.
and washing through a light lube- lighter fluid is pretty good for this. don't set yourself on fire. lighter fluid will wash through parts and then vaporate
follow up with graphite powder
( massager also works pretty good on the pipes under the sink the day after Thanksgiving.)

after further investigating the pin broke on the plunger I don't if that it the right part name that's why it wouldn't unlock , when I pulled the lock the pin and spring were laying there.
No on the graphite as my experience in when mixed together you gut mud. Just the oil will work.
